Towards compounding utility
One of (if not the) biggest problems with AI is that it doesn't improve as you and your team interact with it.
Upkeep is a pain. Context gets stale. Workflows break, and nobody knows where to find them. Everyone has to figure it out on their own.
Unlike current AI workspaces, Thoughtful is designed not only to keep up, but to become more useful the more you and your team uses it, with no upper limit. We call this compounding utility and it is our north star.
Here's our approach:
I. Powerful
You don't just want to chat. You want a more powerful AI that can access data from all your systems and perform real actions (with proper permissions). Thoughtful accomplishes this by allowing the agent to write and run code to access APIs, and use browsers. Now your AI can work anywhere you do.
II. Shared
You want a workspace that is shared so that when one person teaches the AI knowledge or skills, everyone else can benefit from it. Furthermore, the entire product should be inherently multiplayer in realtime, so humans and AI can collaborate without friction.
III. Standard
You don't want to be locked into OpenAI or Anthropic—or any company for that matter. You want your AI's knowledge and skills to be your proprietary IP, and built on open standards that are bigger than any single company.
IV. Solid
You want it to be an extremely polished, crafted, reliable, secure experience. It needs to feel like peak Apple levels of "just works."
Thoughtful is built by Nathan Baschez. We are currently working with a small group of early teams to develop compounding utility.
